Making a Difference, One Step at a Time!
It was so heartwarming and exciting to see area business owners, families, friends and residents show up for the “march” down Leroy St.
This campaign started with one guy “Dennis Schaefer” owner of Creative Wood Products who had a idea to rally the community together and remind people to “Look Local” first. Laura Carpenter, owner of Little Professor, and Kim Hicks, owner of Beale St. Smokehouse BBQ also jumped on board to help the cause.
The overall message behind the “march”: at the very least, give your local businesses a chance by comparing prices. If the price is higher, then you can make your decision. More times than not, you will find that the best bang for your buck right in your own backyard. People have asked us “how can I make a difference”? This “march” was a simple, inexpensive way to show support and by looking local and shopping local, you will make a big impact!
Communities around the U.S. have been developing campaigns that support local business. The Fenton Regional Chamber of Commerce Business Issues Committee will continue campaign efforts relating to this worthy cause. If you would like to be involved, contact the Chamber office for more details.
Thank you to everyone that made a difference by “marching” down N. Leroy St and to those businesses, Douglas Water Conditioning, Tri-County Times, ABC 12, CK 105, McIntyre Soft Water, and Uncle Ray’s Dairyland for their generous contributions and coverage.
Best wishes for continued business success!
